Obituary of Carole K. Pegan
Carole Kesby Pegan, 71, of 3856 Rte. 430, Bemus Point, N.Y. passed into eternal life in heaven, at 1:55 am on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
Born January 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Albert Kesby and Clara Ingerson Kesby. She was a 1958 graduate of Bemus Point High School and received an Associate in Arts degree from Genesee Community College. In earlier years she was employed by First National Bank in Jamestown, Eagle Street School in Fredonia, and Ashville BOCES.
Prior to her illness she enjoyed oil painting, traveling, camping, boating, dancing, acting, roller skating, and singing with her sisters and church choir. She had been a member of the Fredonia, Panama and Bemus Point United Methodist churches and served as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. Among her greatest joys were sharing meals, playing cards and traveling with her husband and dear friends.
Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Pegan, whom she married on Dec. 3rd 1960. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Reinbold of Arcade, NY, brother and sister-in-law Rev. Max Rice and Rev. Nancy Pegan Rice of Albuquerque NM, daughter Terrie (Andy) Johnson of Ashville, NY, sons Robert (Paula) Pegan of Lockport, NY, Rev. James (Susi) Pegan of Boonville, NY, Randall (Wendy) Pegan of Amherst' NY, grandchildren; Kati (Jon) Park of North East, Pa., Jimm Pegan of Dallas Tx., Kristin and Ashley Johnson of Ashville, NY, Mitchell and Mary Pegan of Lockport, NY, Tomme and Andy Pegan of Amherst, NY, step grandchildren and great grandchildren; Josh (Jessica) Gracie and Ruth Walker, Jennifer (Nate) Vanderbeck of Lockport, NY, Beth Figlioti, Eric, Ryan, Elise Koepke of Amherst, NY.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Swanson, and brother, Harold Kesby.
A Memorial of Life Service will be held at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 10 at 11:00 AM.
The family will receive visitors at the Lind Funeral Home at 805 West 3rd St. Jamestown, NY on Friday Evening, September 9th from 2-4 and 7-9.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Bemus Point United Methodist Church.
