When I was a kid, there was only one thing I was really sure of in the world - Chico's going to pop in to visit. I never knew when, I never knew how long he was going to stay and pass some time with my grandpa, but one thing was for sure, he was going to make an appearance. I moved away from home in 2004 for college, but even going back to visit my grandparents on a weekend I still knew it - Chico's going to pop in to visit.
He was one of the kindest, friendliest men I ever knew, and if there was a story being told, he was probably in it somehow even if it was just "Oh and Chico was there too." He was the kind of friend to my grandpa and the rest of the family that everyone ought to have in their life. I'm going to miss that certainty I once had when he was around.

I worked with Chico at Pri-Det Security. He was charming and funny man. Always with a joke or something to brighten my day. His talent was beyond measure and a better person you'd be hard to find.

Jeff and Family so sorry for your loss. Chico was a wonderful who will be so deeply missed by many people. I've known him since he worked with my mom at Flickengers. Then when I started at the Adult Day Care he would ride with Jeff bringing others in and picking them up. I kept asking him to just try one day and it took a long time but Chico finally tried it and of course he loved it. I will always remember him playing cards with his glasses on top of his head. Your pain is gone so now rest in peace my friend. I will always remember you and the great times we all had at the Center.

Dear Daversa Family,
So sorry to hear about "Rodger's" passing. I will always remember him as a patient man who had to deal with all our foolishness when we were hanging out on Kelsey Place...he took it all in stride and knew how to laugh. Be assured he has been greeted by his old friend "doc." our prayers are with you all.

Dave, Randy, Jeff & Greg:
When I read Chico’s obituary it referred to the dates from the beginning to the end.
But what mattered most of all was the dash, between all those years.
He served his country in Korea; he raised 4 children with his wife Barbara.
He was also a faithful community servant, serving Jamestown Area Jaycees, Jamestown Midget Football League, Jamestown Housing Authority, Chautauqua County Youth Board and he was a strong advocate for youth and senior citizen activities.
Chico gave of himself in every way possible to his community, our country needs more people like him.
Chico was a wonderful man who lived his Dash!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dave, Randy, Jeff, Greg and families....may the wonderful memories of you Dad bring you peace and comfort.
I am thinking of all of you at this difficult time. And when you look up at the sky, think about the quote that says they are not really stars, but perhaps openings in the heavens where our loved ones shine down on us to let us know they are happy and at peace.
Blessings to each of you.

Chico, It was such an honor and so much fun to know you. From the time we met at Dick & Pat's farm with homemade spagetti and wine, watching our kids play to working at the PD with you, to your visits when you were tooling around the neighborhood in town. You are fondly remembered and unforgetable. May your family find peace and comfort knowing you are now whole again. Sincrely, Laura Devereaux Renker

Your father was a wonderful guy. I remember hanging out, probably smoking & doing something we shouldn't be, when someone would yell, "look out here comes Chico Daversa." He was such a cool dude that I think everyone looked forward to him showing up. I remember camping at Hidden Valley with your family. My parents thought the world of both of your parents. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Given the last few years, I'm sure Chico is happier now than he has been in a long time.
As much as he'll be missed, I prefer this to the alternative of him living in pain.

We remember when Armand (Chico) lived just a few houses down from us and he stopped by while we were having a yard sale. It was a warm sunny day, he'd come up with his scooter to see what we had for sale and ended up visiting with us for a couple hours. We had a great visit and when he drove on sported a nice straw hat I gave him to keep the Sun off his head. He was a great guy and we'll miss him a lot.
Our Condolences to all his family, may the Lord Strengthen & Bless each of you during this time.
