Obituary of Shirley R. Rapp

Shirley R. Rapp, 79, of 1565 Orr St. Ext. Jamestown, NY passed away at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday (September 6, 2011) in her home. An area resident for most of her life she was born September 24, 1931 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Daisy Marie Fosberg Swanson. She grew up in the Lander, PA area and graduated from the Lander and Sugar Grove, PA schools. She was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church. In earlier years she was employed at the New Process Company in Warren, PA. Surviving are two sons Charles A. "Chip" Rapp with whom she made her home on Orr St., Brian J. Rapp of Littleton, CO and a sister Elaine Wenzel of Lander, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Galen A. Rapp whom she married September 10, 1954 and who died September 9, 1994 and a brother C. Raymond Swanson. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Busti Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Lander United Methodist Church, 5466 Route 957, Russell, PA 16345.
