Obituary of Steven W. Walsh

Steven W. Walsh, 54, of 3647 North Main Street Ext., died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 in his home following a difficult battle with cancer. He was born in Jamestown on April 17, 1957 and was a veteran of the US Navy. Steve owned and operated Steven Walsh Contracting for many years and had earlier been employed by Dahlstrom Manufacturing. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America David B. Arthur Chapter 865, the American Legion Cassadaga Post 1280, the American Legion Riders WNY Chapter Cassadaga Post 1280 and the War Vets. Surviving is his wife, Kimberley Birath Walsh; a daughter, Ashley Walsh of Sinclairville and son, Adam Walsh of Jamestown; a grandson, Bryce Jedrysik of Sinclairville; his mother, Marilyn Hamilton Casamento (Anthony) of Bemus Point and Port Orange, Fla.; his father, Roger Walsh (Diane) of Sanford, Maine; two sisters, Janet Fredrick (Robert) of Bemus Point and Kathleen Walsh (Mark) of Sanford, ME; several aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews and cousins; and his caretaker and good friend, Patty Ross. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Laura & Thomas Walsh and Minnie & Vern Larson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville. The Rev. James D. Bailey and the Rev. Robert D. Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Stillwater Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750; or to a Veteran's association of one's choice.
