Obituary of Rose Eileen Ecker

Rose Eileen Ecker, 89, of 3942 Willow Ave. in Greenhurst died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday (September 22, 2011) at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born July 22, 1922 in Sharon, PA, one of nine children of the late William and Rose Means Griffin. Eileen is survived by six children: Darla J. Seaman of Pomona, NY, Timothy A. Ecker of Charlotte, NC, Robert D. Ecker of Ashville, NY, Sharon E. Pangborn of Cassadaga, Patrick M. Ecker of Greenhurst and Betty Jo Cook of Panama; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy McCullough, Helen McCullough, Helene Bombeck and Norma Ondick; and two brothers, William and Harry Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ecker whom she married November 14, 1941 and who died February 28, 1999; a grandson, Stephen Pangborn; a brother, Sonny Griffin; and a sister, Betty Weimer. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr. Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380.
