Obituary of Jody R. Hendrickson

Jody R. Hendrickson, 53, of Jamestown, died at 4:42 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 in WCA Hospital following a lengthy battle with cancer. A lifelong area resident, she was born June 21, 1958 in Jamestown, the daughter of Betty J. McMaster Hendrickson and the late Alvin L. Hendrickson. Jody graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1976 and received her Associate's degree from Jamestown Community College. She had been employed by the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services since 1999. Previously, Jody was employed by the Blackstone Corp., the Paint & Hardware Department of Sears and Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Jody is survived by her mother of Jamestown; an uncle, John McMaster of Jamestown; and her cats, Catie and Cosmo. She was preceded in death by her father, who died November 12, 1987. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Deacon Cathy Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
