I never knew my Aunt Mabel, having only met her at the age of 3 or 4 but my dad, James (Jim) spoke of her often with love and admiration. In reading her story I now know my love of animals, nature and gardening came from her father, my grandfather. She sounds like a wonderful woman that I would have enjoyed knowing. I now look forward to meeting her and other relatives I missed out on when we all gather in heaven. May God bless her family with wonderful memories and love of this woman, keeping her always in their hearts.

Mabel was more than a friend and mother-in-law over the decades; she was my strength and mentor. She was the type of person in whose presence you know you are loved. Kind and generous, stoic and charming, no-nonsense Mabel was the "even keel" of her family and all who knew her. I loved her. She was my mother.

May the dear Lord supply you with faith, hope and comfort during this time of sorrow. Her life seems to have been filled with love and joy.... may those happy memories live with you for the rest of time.
May her soul rest in peace and may she share in the love and mercy of our savior.
God Bless us all.

Dear Grandma, I miss you but I know you are safe in the arms of Jesus and reunited with grandpa. Thank you for being a great testimony of a godly woman. All the years of constantly reminding us of God's love. Your hospitality was shown to so many people that came to your door. What a cook you were too, if only I could bake a pie half as good. You were a strong willed woman determined to do what was necessary. Always willing to help. The legacy you left will always be cherished. Thanks for always telling me to "stay on the right side of the road". I love you...Sonja

What I will always remember and cherish about my grandma is her love and devotion to my family and to all who entered her home. She always made sure everyone had enough, if not too much! I will also remember all the fun times she created for us when we were kids. Teaching us how to make things, decorating Christmas cookies, making Christmas Wreaths with pieces of hard candy sown all around the edges, making our own candles, using old milk cartons as the molds. With grandma everything was made from scratch. Homemade play-doh, homemade lemonade, homemade hot cocoa, homemade pies, cakes, cookies, donuts...., you name it she could make it! Grandma you were greatly loved and we will all miss you!

My Deepest Sympathy to the family of Mabel! My mother (Jean Buckley) used to work with her at Top Value, so that's how I got to know her. Mabel also attended my wedding 37 years ago! May she Rest In Peace forever!
