Obituary of Julieanne Charles

Julieanne Charles, 71, of 69 Allen St. passed away at 8:56 a.m. Tuesday (October 25, 2011) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born May 16, 1940 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Julius Goranson and the late Jeannette Johnson GoransonYonkers. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army where she was active in the Ladies Aide Society, the Salvation Army Thrift Shop and enjoyed visiting fellow members in nursing homes. She also loved the annual Santa Lucia Festival at Salvation Army. She was a member of the Samuel Derby Post #556 American Legion Auxiliary, Frewsburg and loved spending time scrapbooking. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved attending her grandchildren's many activities. Surviving are her husband Robert E. Charles whom she married October 8, 1958, three daughters Janet (Kevin) McFaul of Millington, TN, Janine Brady of Frewsburg, NY, Jill (Gregg) Rough of Jamestown, NY, eight grandchildren Robert McFaul and Michelle McFaul of Millington, TN, Jennifer Brady Lucas, Ashleigh Rough, Amelia Rough, Alyssa Rough, Annalise Rough all of Jamestown, Alan (Shelly) Brady, II of Frewsburg, three great grandchildren Katelyn Allen of Frewsburg, Jaydon Brady of Celoron, Mikayla Capizzi of Jamestown, three sisters Shirley Strand, Barbara Yonkers, Lucille Hall all of Jamestown, two brothers Paul and Norman Goranson both of Jamestown as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father Herman Yonkers, a sister Virginia Yonkers and a brother Marvin Yonkers. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army. Major Douglas Hart will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
