Obituary of Paul Tyes

Paul Tyes, 70, of 144 Park Street, died Sunday October 23, 2011, in his home. A Jamestown resident the last 3 yrs., he was born December 21, 1940 in Corinth, MS to Johnnie Tyes and Rosie Lee Richey. Upon the sudden death of his mother, he moved to Cleveland, OH and was raised by his father and step-mother, Magnolia Tyes. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired coal miner with Beth Energy Corp. in Marianna, PA. Paul is survived by his five children, Paul Tyes II (Yonkers, NY), Monique Tyes (Upper Marlboro, MD), Vicky Tyes-Davis (Cleveland, OH), James Bernard Tyes (Cleveland, OH), Charles M. Brown (Bronx, NY); Seven grandchildren, Caleb & Sarai Tyes, Reuben, Rae-Shawn, James & La-Dale Davis & Dominique Tyes; Seven siblings, Evone Tyes (Flint, MI), Betty Jean Stacey (Flint, MI), Darlene Brent (Cleveland, OH), Ruby Day (Memphis, TN), Marjorie Price (Cleveland, OH), William Tyes (Baldwyn, MS), Wayne Tyes (Baldwyn, MS), Johnny Harper (Cleveland, OH) & former wives, Ilene Morris Tyes & Odell Tyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Derrick Scott Tyes, two brothers Charles and Adrian Tyes and his sister Catherine Coleman. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
