Obituary of Marjorie L. Nelson

Marjorie L. DuBois Nelson, 85, of 2109 Southwestern Dr. Lakewood, NY passed away at 9:27 p.m. Thursday (October 27, 2011) in her home. A lifelong area resident she was born October 18, 1926 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Lewis J. and Ethel L. Crego DuBois. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School Class of 1945 and was a member of the Jamestown High School 100 Member Club. Before retiring in 1987, she was employed by the former Jamestown General Hospital for many years. She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood and a former communicant of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary and the Celoron Moose Lodge. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed her family and coffee friends, especially Sal Genco. Surviving are three son's: Steve (Ruth) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID, Brian (Theresa) Nelson of Bemus Point, NY, Kevin (Marlene) Nelson of Longs, SC, a daughter Mary Beth (Dan) Coon of Bemus Point, NY, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a brother Roger (Priscilla) DuBois of Jamestown. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Keith J. Nelson, a sister Esther Shay, and three brothers Richard, Robert and Lewis DuBois. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 380 East Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750; or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
