Obituary of Elaine R. Danielson

Elaine R. Danielson, 75, of 3 E. Seventh St. WE, died Saturday October 29, 2011 in her home. She was born June 18, 1936 in McKeesport, PA the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorsel Witheril Remington. Elaine was employed by Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. as a home care aide. Earlier she worked at Betty Dixon Candies and as a seamstress at Jamestown Sewing Co. and Van Raalte Co. in Dunkirk. Elaine was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and loved reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Surviving are four daughters, Lou Ann (Pat) Griffin of Randolph; Jackie (Gary) Lawson of Ashville; Donna (Bob) Fredrick of Jamestown; Barbara Rhoades of Cassadaga; ten grandchildren, Ed and Allan Pierce, both of Orange, TX; Luke Griffin of Randolph; Vanessa Griffin of Sarasota, FL; Katie Odom, Amanda Bradley, both of Jamestown; Tim Danielson, Courtney Lawson, both of Ashville; Jim Rhoades of Stockton; Brad Rhoades of Cassadaga; 17 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ellen Murphy of Dunkirk. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. "Donny" Danielson whom she married September 24, 1962 and who died May 1, 1997; a grandson, Scott E. Rhoades; and a brother, Robert Remington. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Church of The Nazarene, 405 Howard Ave WE. Rev. John Gocke, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
