Patty and family,
My heart goes out to all of you. I am Lee and Helen Sperry's oldest daughter and I just want you to know how important Gerry was to my father. My father feels as though he has lost his right arm. He thought the world of Gerry and I know he will miss him tremendously. I know that Gerry would also spend time at my grandfather's farm helping just like one of my dad's brothers. Thank you for sharing him with other people. I pray that you will remember what a wonderful man he was. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Coming from a guy who did not have a father growing up, Jerry Wong was a great father figure. He was the first man to take me and my brother fishing and at least show us how to bait a hook even with us freaking out. I specifically remember him telling us one time, while down at the lake shore that life was a precious thing. He always told my brother and I that we would be great successful men. I always wanted to thank him for believing in us at such a young age and in a time where the world seems lost. With that said I must state this:
For whatever piece of good is in me, I owe it all to Jerry. Thanks for everything and may you rest in peace.

OMG! Where do you begin? At the beginning, the very first year I met you and Patty at Thankgiving on Kinau St. Cooking a turkey, fish, squid and whatever you Kinau boys thought to put in the emu. The flames were higher than house! And the palest turkey I ever saw! That was the beginning and the good times continued. Lorrin can remember bailing you out of jail on Molokai for hunting without the proper tags. That didn't stop you from loving to hunt. We might never remember the exact day but we always remember the moment! Aloha our dear brother and friend! We will toast our glass of wine to you and maybe Lorrin won't break the glass!!!

Patty, Nikki and Erin,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jerry. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend. Always had a smile and a "HI" when I came home from work and he was outside. He grew a wonderful garden and you knew he was very proud of it! He would leave tomatoes on my back steps, which were always a nice treat for me! I give thanks to God for letting me have the pleasure of his friendship and being a neighbor to all of you. Let God give you peace in knowing that Jerry, loved his family and life, and is now watching over all of you! Peace, Lisa
