Obituary of Virginia R. Anderson

Virginia R. Anderson, 86, formerly of 434 Willard St. Jamestown, died peacefully at 11:45 p.m. Monday (November 7, 2011) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born January 15, 1925 in Jamestown the daughter of the late William and M. Elizabeth Werner Ritchie. She was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. Virginia enjoyed bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society and the John W. Tiffany Post VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Anderson and Elizabeth (David) Spitzer; a son, Rev. Daniel Anderson, all of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Nichole Stauffer Green, Janelle (Ryan) Christensen, David Spitzer Jr., Nicholas (Jill) Spitzer, Sara (Chris) Giltinan, all of Jamestown; eight great grandchildren, Kaylee and Alexis Christensen, Skylar Green, Annika, Mattie, and Aubrey Spitzer, and Ellie and Morgan Giltinan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert K. Anderson whom she married December 25, 1942 and who died January 18, 2003; and a sister, Carol Roby. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Her son, Rev. Daniel Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
