Obituary of Richard L. Nance

Richard Lee Nance, Sr., 39, of Bradmar Circle died unexpectedly at 12:47 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 in WCA Hospital. He was born April 18, 1972 in Jamestown, a son of Geneva Faison and the late Curtis Nance, Sr. Richie had worked for the Cummins Engine Co. from August 2005 to June of 2008. He attended Jamestown Public schools and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1990. He loved sports, especially basketball, boxing and football. His favorite team was the Miami Dolphins for whom he had the motto "Ride or Die". Richie truly loved all four of his children. In addition to his mother of Jamestown, surviving are two daughters, Keiona M. Nance of Jamestown and Sidney Nance of Rochester, NY; two sons, Blake A. Nance of Rochester and Richard L. Nance, Jr. of Jamestown; three sisters: Rochelle Howie of Dunedin, FL, Debra Buchannan of Dunkirk and Laverne Thomas of Lima, OH; three brothers: Roderick Faison and Curtis Nance, Jr. of Jamestown and Curtis Aikens of Pittsburgh, PA; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Bruce Nance and a sister, Crystal Lynne Nance. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Leroy Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
