I was not a student of Bud's, but I did have the privilege of having a sit down conversation with him one time when I was in high school. I was dating one of his beautiful daughters, and he made it abundantly clear that respecting her curfew was a noble and honorable thing to do. I chose the path of honor.
Live on in our memories.

I was a student of Bud's when
he first came to lakewood.
Over the years we became great friends,we had the same birthday Jan.31,each year we would call each other and wish each other happy birthday
I will miss the call and I will miss a dear friend.
God bless Mary Ellen and the Windoft family.

I was a student of Clarence and Eliza Windoft. The former taught mechanical drawing and the latter, English. My best friend, Bill Peeples and I took every course we could from Clarence, and I was one of the very few Shakespeare students that Eliza had that could "get it". I made a stage out of cigar boxes for her that she used in presentations for years. I made a mistake that set Clarence off once, and Eliza found out and chewed him out. He told my parents at Open House about her ripping him apart for yelling at me. Everyone had a laugh over the incident. They were among my favorite teachers. I too went on to become a school teacher and administrator. I think Byron resembled his father to some degree. I never knew Clarence's children, but have fond memories of Clarence and Eliza. My sympathy regarding your loss. Gordon A. Sutton (THS,'55), D.Ed., Retired, Titusville
