Obituary of Arlene N. Field

Arlene N. Field, 72, of 283 South Main Street, died Sunday December 18, 2011, in her home. A Jamestown native, she was born April 23, 1939, a daughter of the late Donald and Rachel Pinney Erickson. She was a member of Camp Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making crafts and ceramics and playing piano. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. She will be especially missed by her pet dog Cuddles. Surviving are her husband Harry Field, whom she married September 28, 1956, six children Jan (Robert) Williams, Jill (David) Conklin, Darren (Debbie) Field, Thomas (Michelle) Tonkin and Donald (Sherrie) Tonkin, all of Jamestown and Greg (Karen) Field of Cassadaga, fifteen grandchildren Julie (Brad) Arnink, Jennifer and Robert Williams, Rachel (Chris) Conti, Pam (Matt) Reese, Christina and DJ Conklin, Andrew and Danielle Field, Heather, Brandon, Jed, Jakob, Joshua and Jonah Tonkin; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Rebecca Tonkin in 1975. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Costner will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
