Obituary of William L. Chapman
William L. "Bill" Chapman, 54, of 1 Kipp St., Jamestown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, December 17th, 2011, in Cleveland Clinic.
An area resident his entire life, he was born October 31, 1957, in Jamestown, to Barbara M. Chapman Burleigh and Henry D. Crick. He was adopted and lovingly raised by Gerald and Catherine Wilson Chapman, in Ashville, N.Y.
Bill attended Panama Central School with the Class of 1975.
Throughout the years, Bill worked for Ethan Allen, Larson Metal, and most recently, as a bus driver for Advanced Transportation.
Bill was an active member of the Chautauqua County Amateur FM Association, his call letters N2QHJ, and the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service.
He was an avid outdoors-man. He loved camping, fishing, and simply picnicking in the woods, especially with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah M. Tracy Chapman, whom he married June 30, 1990; his mother, Barbara; three children: Michelle (Scott) Waterman of Jamestown, Christopher (Jessica) Chapman of Bremen, Georgia, and Anastasia Chapman of Jamestown, currently residing in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Wales, with her fiance, Russell Sheldon; five grandchildren: Kayli and Emileigh Waterman of Jamestown, and Owen, Alex, and Ethan Chapman of Bremen, Georgia; five sisters, Vicki L. (Ric) Mason of Youngsville, P.A., Sharon M. Crick of Townville, P.A., Lori L. (Steve) Breon and Diane L. (Garry) Williams of Grand Valley, P.A., and Susan I. Spetz of Titusville, P.A.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Jack.
In addition to his parents Gerald, Kate, and Henry, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia A. Chapman Jones.
The service will be held at 11 AM Friday at New Beginnings Fellowship, 1427 Warren & Jamestown Blvd. The Rev. Scott Waterman will officiate. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church, as well.
