Obituary of Allan D. Bloomgren

Allan D. Bloomgren, 83, of 145 Park Street, formerly of Highland Avenue, died Friday December 23, 2011, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born May 2, 1928, in Jamestown, a son of the late Harold and Edith Swanson Bloomgren. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1947 and from Fredonia State College in 1950. A veteran of the US Army he served from 1951-53. He was employed by Jamestown Public Schools as a custodian at the high school. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Surviving are a daughter Patricia (Gary Ernewein) Bloomgren of Ellington; a sister Jeanne (William) Morgenstern of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Janice Hollander, whom he married July 6, 1963 and who died March 28, 2005 and a brother Lt. Rodney Bloomgren in 1962. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
