Obituary of Anthony J. Ingrao
Anthony J. Ingrao, 87, of 8265 Hirschwood Drive, Williamsville, NY, formerly of 1369 Newland Avenue, Jamestown, died Saturday December 31, 2011, in Harris Hill Nursing Home, Williamsville.
He was born March 1, 1924, in Jamestown, a son of the late Nicolo and Concetta Inserra Ingrao.
Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Ingrao's Radio and TV Store. He earlier had worked for the former Art Metal Inc.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was an altar server for many years.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he earned his 4th Degree and served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. His other memberships included the Optimist Club and The Resource Center Board of Directors.
Surviving are three children Connie (John) Taddio of Henderson, NV, Anthony (Mary Frances) Ingrao, Jr. of Matthews, NC and Richard (Rosario) Ingrao of Williamsville; nine grandchildren Mary Beth (Matthew) Freitas of Hamburg, NY, Trisha (Joseph) Montesano of Henderson, NV, Julie (Daniel) DeGolier of Henderson, NV, Jeffrey Ingrao of Matthews, NC, Jason Ingrao of Ft. Myers, FL, Nicholas (Mary Ann) Ingrao of Angola, NY, Nina Ingrao of Towanda, PA, Nathan Ingrao of Jamestown and Matthew Ingrao of Williamsville, NY, a step grandson Edgar Ibarra of St. Augustine, FL and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Sarah Foti, whom he married June 12, 1943 and who died July 2, 2008; 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will be celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 3:30 p.m.
