Obituary of Mary J. Campbell

Mary J. Campbell, 79, died at 11:18 PM Sunday (January 1, 2012) in WCA Hospital. She was born September 19, 1932 in Steamburg, NY the daughter of the late Ralph and Nola Stacy Whitmore. Mary worked for the Post Journal as a carrier on the Lakewood/Panama Route for many years. She was an avid collector of many fine items, including dolls. She also enjoyed crocheting, plants and gardening, especially African Violets, and she loved her cat and dog. Mary's final gift was that of an organ and tissue donor. Surviving are her husband, William W. Campbell III whom she married March 5, 1966; two daughters, Lisa Warner Johnson (Mike) of Jamestown; Patty Warner Johnson (Harold) of Frewsburg; four grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Danielle Johnson; Brian Johnson (Sarah); a great granddaughter, Emma Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth E. "Bud" Warner; and four brothers, Michael, Luther, Robert, and James Whitmore. There will be no funeral service or visitation observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society 2825 Strunk Road Jamestown, NY 14701.
