Obituary of Margaret I. Cook

Margaret I. Cook, 86, formerly of Sunnyside Road Jamestown, died Monday January 2, 2012 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Greenhurst, NY the daughter of Leonard and Irene Roberts Carlson Sr. Margaret attended Bemus Point High School and for 34 years, worked in the menswear department at Sears and Roebuck, retiring in 1987. She loved to knit, crochet, cook, and travel. Surviving are a daughter, Linda L. Metcalf of Port Saint Lucie, FL; two granddaughters, Cari (Rick) Kinney of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Nichole (John) Dunn of Aliquippa, PA; a great grandson, Owen David Kinney of Fort Lauderdale; and a sister, Helen Ingerson of Bemus Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy E. Cook whom she married June 21, 1947 and who died January 12, 2004; a sister, Edith Carlson; and two brothers, Wallace Carlson, and Leonard Carlson Jr. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
