Obituary of Diane Marie Warner

Diane M. Warner, 66, of 312 Willard St. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday (January 8, 2012) in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident she was born October 17, 1945 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Ellis C. and Margaret M. Reeder Warner, Sr. Diane was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School and also graduated from Jamestown Community College. Before her retirement she was employed by the James Prendergast Free Library in Jamestown for 40 years. Many of those years were spent in the children's room reading to her beloved children. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was also active with the Chautauqua County Humane Society. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and generous person who may have been small in stature but had the heart of a giant. She also loved children and had a special place in her heart for animals. She took in many stray cats over the years and had a name for them all. Surviving are her brother Ellis C. Warner, Jr. of Jamestown, a cousin Laurel Lockhart of New York City, her best friend Kay E. Burch and long time family friend Louise Denka both of Jamestown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. today in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 2:45 p.m. today.
