Obituary of Gail Eva Torres

Gail Eva Torres, 58, of Tarpon Springs, Fl formerly of Jamestown, NY passed away at 4:10 p.m. Monday (January 23, 2012) in the Peninsula Care and Rehab Center, Tarpon Springs, FL. Her dearest and closet companion, Mr. Bill Peterson grieved at her bedside daily until she took her last breath. She was born October 6, 1953 in Bronx, NY a daughter of John David Bryant and Thelma V. Adderly-Ford. For many years Gail was a foster parent for many children. She became a better mother to most children than the mothers who gave birth to them. She bathed, clothed, fed, washed and braided their hair and taught them manners. "Auntie" they called her fondly. Surviving is her companion of many years Bill Peterson of Tarpon Springs, her brothers and sisters, Edward Maddox, Derrick Maddox, Dewey Taylor, Rebecca Camp and their children, her nephew Dwight, and nieces Sioban, Jasmine and Karina Taylor, sister Starteisha Hood and her son Rayquan, Gail's nephew, brother Kingyoun "Keith" O'Bryant and sister Annie Allen, her husband Shawn Allen, Sr. and their children, Gail's nephew Shawn, Jr., her nieces Iyana and Naivya Allen as well as many cousins Lawrence and Yogi from the Adderly and Hunt Family, the Frank, Grant and Newkirk's, Joyce Y., Joclyn Velma, Jovan Sholanda and her daughter Makayla, Gail's God Daughter Joyce Shakeima and her mom "Junie" and husband PRO. Last but not least, an honorable mention and a big Thank You to Gail's friend to the very end Crystal. She was preceded in death by her mother who died November 29, 1998 and her favorite cousin Delores "Dee" who passed away on July 12, 2011. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
