Obituary of Delores E. Dimas
Delores E. Dimas, 88, formerly of 331 Norton Avenue, died Saturday January 28, 2012, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Jamestown, she was born December 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Gunnard and Noema Hornberg Johnson.
She was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School.
A gifted artist and furniture decorator, she was employed for many years by Union National and earlier had Decorlac, Inc. While at Union National she hand decorated the chair that was presented to the King of Sweden on his visit to Jamestown in the 1970's.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Chautauqua County Artist Association.
Surviving are a son Jeffrey (Maureen) Dimas of Jamestown; a daughter Lorna (James) Frederick of Jamestown; four grandchildren Chris Frederick and Jayne (Chris) Larson, both of Jamestown, Adam (Cristen) Dimas of Fairfax, VA and Erik Dimas of Chantilly, VA and three great grandchildren Evan Larson, Lily Dimas and Helena Dimas.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Christ Dimas, whom she married April 30, 1944 and who died December 16, 1991 and a brother Kenneth Johnson in 1991.
A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
