Obituary of Ingrid L. Kilburn

Ingrid Greta Viola Larson Kilburn, 88, of 175 Aldren Ave., formerly of 2371 South Hill Drive, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie. She was born October 2, 1923 in Dalarna, Sweden, the daughter of the late Elof and Viola Larson and came to the United States in 1927. A 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School, Ingrid began her employment that same year in the traffic department of the former Jamestown Telephone Co. where she worked until 1953. She married her husband, Kenneth M. Kilburn on June 21, 1952. Ingrid was an active member of Zion Covenant Church and belonged to the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation. She also volunteered at WCA Hospital and Meals On Wheels. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, surviving are five children: Larry (Kay) Kilburn of Arcade, NY, Janice (Steve) Kresovich of Columbia, SC, Ron (Sue) Kilburn of Meadville, PA, Tom (Diane) Kilburn of Westfield, NY and Steve (Jennifer) Kilburn of Jamestown. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren: Greg, Kurt and Stacey Kilburn, Laura (Jared) Pierce and Matt Kilburn; Alex and Jake Kresovich; Doug (Heather) and Dan (Andrea) Fullerton, and David, Courtney and Mike Kilburn; Tiffany, Brittany and Ian Kilburn; and Chelsea Kilburn; five great-grandchildren; and several cousins in Sweden. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Covenant Church. The Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service Wednesday in the church.
