Obituary of Loretta S. Sampson

Loretta S. Sampson, 75, of 220 Chautauqua Ave. passed away Monday (January 30, 2012) in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. She was born July 18, 1936 in Geneva, NY a daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances T. Kranacyk Granskofski. Loretta was employed as a registered nurse working at the Warren State Hospital, Warren, PA for several years. She also worked as a nurse in Tennessee and California before retiring and returning to Jamestown in 2003. Surviving are a son Eric F. Sampson of San Diego, CA, three daughters Rebecca McCulloch of Woodbury, TN, Lori Sampson of Jamestown, NY, Marie Sampson of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren Shannon Bush and Sean Studd of Woodbury, TN, Daniel Studd, and Dawn Studd, of Murfreesboro, TN, Devan McCulloch of Jamestown, Melissa Sampson of Hollywood, CA, Christopher Sampson of Chula Vista, Ca, five great grandchildren and a sister Joyce Davis of Hyde Park, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Paul Sampson who died August 4, 1981. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
