Obituary of Virginia D. Young
Virginia D. "Ginny" Young, 92, of 265 Willard St. and Tanglewood Manor, formerly of Busti, passed away at 10:09 p.m. Monday (February 6, 2012) in W.C.A. Hospital.
An area resident for most of her life she was born August 4, 1919 in Tidioute, PA a daughter of the late Roy and Lottie Martin Spencer.
Before her retirement she was employed by the former Kling Furniture Company in Frewsburg for 13 years. In earlier years she had worked for Penny's, GC Murphy and the former National Worsted Mills.
She was a member of the Busti Church of God and was active with the Lamplighters Group and several other groups within the church. She was also a member of the Busti Fire Department Auxiliary, the Lakewood Busti Golden Agers and the Red Hater's. She also enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son John D. (Wendy) Young of Lakewood, two daughters Janice Pacheco, Joan (Howard) Holmes both of Jamestown, four grandchildren Jeffrey Beish, Paige Miller, Jillian Swan all of Jamestown, James Young of Lakewood and four great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald J. Young whom she married October 28, 1939 and who died May 15, 1986, and infant daughter Jean Young, two brothers John Spencer, James Spencer and 3 sisters Gladys Jader, Edna Kenney and Ruth Brady.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Busti Church of God. The Rev. Roy E. Ferguson, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service in the church on Friday.
