Obituary of Michael Emules
Michael Emules Jr., 84, of 5 Green St. Lakewood, NY passed away peacefully at the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
He was born on December 26, 1927, to Michael, Sr., and Florence Ehrhard in Buffalo, NY.
They moved to Niobe, NY where Michael, Sr., opened a barber shop.
Michael, Jr., graduated from Panama High School and went on to Houghton College where he majored in music. He played first chair trumpet in the Houghton College Symphony Orchestra. He has been a long time member of the Musician's Union Local 134 in Jamestown, NY. He is a 50-year member of the Jamestown Moose Club where he played trumpet in the Moose band and was on their bowling team for three years. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and a member of the Harmony Senior Citizens. He retired from Hope's Windows after 42 years as their hardware sales manager, and was a member of the Professional Technical Engineers Local 24 of Jamestown, NY. He was a former member of St. John's Church and was their organist for 25 years. He was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church where he played organ for 13 years. He played the organ in a lot of churches around the area.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, one son, David Emules and his wife, Cheryl, of Columbus, IN; one daughter, Diane Hicks and her husband, Joe, of Little Genesee, NY; four step children, Kathleen (Joe) Walz of Jamestown, NY; Duane (Emily) Baker of Jamestown, NY; Karen Austin of Lakewood, NY; and James Baker, of Falconer, NY; many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey White Emules; and one daughter, Susan Emules Gard.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday February 28, 2012 in the Lind Funeral Home.
The funeral will take place at the Lakewood Baptist Church on Wednesday February 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Daniel W. Cook will officiate.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tina, Colleen, and Carna from Hospice, and also to the staff at Heritage Park for their special care in our time of need.
