Obituary of Gladys Todhunter Stuart
Gladys Todhunter Stuart, 91, of 4351 West Lake Road, Mayville, died Wednesday March 7, 2012, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born December 17, 1920, in Johnstown, PA, a daughter of the late Richard and Marjorie Thorton Todhunter.
She was a 1944 graduate of Juniata College, Huntington, PA earning a Bachelor's Degree in education.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Milwaukee Public School District for 21 years as a home economics teacher.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Westfield and was active with the Alzheimer's Association.
Surviving are two children Capt. Herbert Ray (Johanne) Stuart III (USAF ret) of Suamico, WI and Margo Pearl Stuart of Mayville; a granddaughter Angela Stuart (David) Bernards of Milwaukee, WI and two great grandchildren Marisa and Mitchell Bernards.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Ray Stuart II, whom she married in 1946 and who died in 1989, six sisters and seven brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ariel's Bed and Breakfast, formerly Stuart Manor Bed and Breakfast, Mayville. Rev. Stephen Morse will officiate.
An open house will be held at the Bed and Breakfast following the service.
