Obituary of Ruth F. Muzzy

Ruth F. Muzzy, 86, of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Panama, NY died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Florida where she had resided since 2003. She was born February 25, 1926 in Cherry Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Clifford B. Fowler and Elizabeth Knight Fowler Hawkins, and was a graduate of Falconer Central School. Ruth had served as business manager of Panama Central School for over 30 years, retiring in 1985, and was a member of the NYS Association of Business Officials. She was a long time member of Panama United Methodist Church and in Florida a member of Faith Covenant Community Church. Ruth loved spending time with her family, traveling, playing golf and quilting with friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Joanne (Barry) Lindblom of Palm Harbor, FL and Suzanne (Dave) Sherman of Moon Township, PA; seven grandchildren: Erin (John) Petti of Trinity, FL, Stephen Lindblom of Palm Harbor, FL, Kate (Brian) Smith of Tampa, FL, Eric and Chris Sherman of Oakdale, PA, Brian and Michelle Sherman of Moon Township, PA; two great-granddaughters, Sofia Joanne and Grace Emory Petti of Trinity, FL; a step-brother, William C. Fowler of Florida; a sister-in-law, Allene Dole of Bethel Park, PA; and a niece, Sylvia (Al) Armen of Bethel Park and nephew, Greg (Barb) Milleman of Pompton Plains, NJ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, John Hawkins. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Panama United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steven Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
