Obituary of Judith L. Crowell

Judith L. "Judy" Crowell, 61, of 12 Superior St. Jamestown, died at 2:36 a.m. Tuesday (March 27, 2012) in WCA Hospital. She was born January 27, 1951 in Endicott, NY the daughter of the late Allen and Agnes O'Brien Hess. Judy was a graduate of Jamestown High School and worked in retail for many years, locally at Quality Markets. She was also a Realtor in the area. She enjoyed throughout her husband's Naval career the opportunity to travel and live on the east coast, she especially loved Newport, RI. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. Judy dearly loved her family and was most proud of being a grandmother to Madison Grace. Surviving are her husband, Daniel G. Crowell whom she married September 20, 1969; a son, Christopher C. (Kim) Crowell, US Navy; a granddaughter, Madison Grace Crowell, all of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Lauri A. (Vern) Mee of Falconer, NY; two brothers, Neil C. (Linda) Hess of Pittsfield, PA; Mark A. (Roberta) Hess of Jamestown; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Andrew Crowell; and a sister, Yvonne Hess Loewel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
