Obituary of Sharon R. Stenander
Sharon R. Stenander, 72, of Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, formerly of 179 Dunham Ave. Jamestown, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday (March 27, 2012) in WCA Hospital.
She was born January 3, 1940 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Marshall and Myrtle Hamer Cobb.
Sharon attended Jamestown Schools and was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, their piece makers quilting group and Hope Circle, and the Celoron/West Ellicott Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, and cooking.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert E. Stenander Sr. whom she married June 28, 1958; six children, Barbara (Ron) Nelson of North Carolina; Herbert E. Stenander Jr. of Jamestown; William (Heidi) Stenander of Jamestown; James (Mary) Stenander of Georgia; Marcia Stenander of Jamestown; Mark (Michelle) Stenander of PA; six grandchildren, Christian and Bethany Stenander of Jamestown; James and Chelsea Stenander of PA; Angelica Stenander of Georgia; Kayla Nelson of NC; two brothers, Wayne (Cathy) Cobb of Busti; and Bruce (Pat) Cobb of Fluvanna.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Heritage Park for their loving care over the past four years.
