Obituary of William Paul Sadler

William P. Sadler, 85, of 1653 Southwestern Drive Lakewood, NY died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday (March 28, 2012) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born January 1, 1927 in Seneca, PA the son of the late Wendell P. and Lillian Irene Rhodes Sadler. Bill was a 1944 graduate of Cranberry High School in Seneca, PA and during WWII served in the US Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. He worked for the National Cash Register Co. (NCR Corp) in Oil City, PA and in Jamestown, NY for forty years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Zion Covenant Church having served as Treasurer and on the Board of Trustees. He was Past Master of Masonic Lodge #710 in Oil City, PA in 1958, and the New Castle Consistory. Bill was a former member of Busti Lakewood Golden Agers, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and trumpet player in the Oil City American Legion Band. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and was an avid coin collector. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Lou Krug Sadler whom he married April 9, 1955 in Dayton, OH; two daughters, Leslie S. (Jim) Snyder of Endicott, NY; Polly L. Sadler of Fairport, NY; two granddaughters, Lindsey Snyder of Endicott, NY and Stacey Snyder of Rochester, NY two sisters, Nancy Weaver of Oil City, PA and Ruth Campbell of Durham, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Jeanne Mc Kinney Sadler who died March 15, 1951; and a sister, Maxine Mihleder. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
