Obituary of Violet L. "Bunnie" Bowers

Violet L. "Bunnie" Bowers, 87, of 25 Cherry St., Frewsburg, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday (April 30, 2012) in WCA Hospital. She was born August 8, 1924 in Dansville, NY. Violet had been a licensed homecare provider in Frewsburg. She had earlier been employed as a corrections officer for the Steuben County Sheriff's Department. A lover of travel, Violet enjoyed several cross country trips to Arizona and many cruises. She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Carla J. Bowers of Rockford, MI; daughter-in-law, Deborah Day Bowers of Bradford, NY; longtime friend, Judy Beardsley of Kiantone, NY; Rich and Darlene Wolfanger of Bradford, PA whom Violet considered her 2nd family; and a daughter, Deborah K. and grandchildren; as well as several cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Goho and a son, Ronald Bowers, who died in 1973. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will not be observed. Interment will be in the Glenview Cemetery in Pulteney, NY. Memorials may be made to the Frewsburg Fire Dept., Frewsburg, NY 14738.
