Obituary of Mae S Baxter

Mae Stephens Baxter, 99, formerly of 28 Cutting St., Jamestown, passed away Saturday (May 12, 2012) in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. Her family and anyone who ever met her were quickly made aware of the incredible strength and life long love of Jesus that ran through every fiber of her petite frame. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Her small Bible is well-worn, taped, written in and is a very precious example of a life lived by the Word she held so close to her heart. She was a mighty prayer warrior, and her faith was absolute. Mae was born in Dixonville, PA on April 26, 1913 to John and Margaret Stephens. She married George N. Baxter on May 10, 1941. Mae found her joy and happiness in being a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was a wonderful cook, tended to beautiful rose bushes, kept an immaculate home, and made the best desserts that were enjoyed by all! Mae was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Jeanne Mae (Bruce) Isaacson, son-in-law Todd Robin Thomas, and three sisters and one brother. She is survived by children Bruce (Donna) Baxter of Aylett, VA and Debra Thomas of Lakewood; grandchildren Brent (Valory) Isaacson and Todd (Brook) Isaacson of Jamestown, Daniel Baxter of Mechanicsville, VA and Joseph Baxter of Aylett, VA, and Brockton Stephens Thomas and Brigetta Robin Thomas of Lakewood; and great-grandchildren Talon Baxter of Chester, VA and Savannah Baxter of Aylett, VA and Emily, Holland and Elin Isaacson of Jamestown. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jamestown NY. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church, 40 Hallock St, Jamestown, NY 14701. Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 "But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not be faint." The Lord did renew her strength. Now Mae is running and not weary; she is walking and not faint. Praise Jesus she is at last where she wants to be...there are no words for how much we love her
