Obituary of Leslie W. Davis, Jr.

Leslie W. "Sunshine" Davis Jr., 90, of Bridle Path, Bemus Point, died Sunday May 13, 2012 in WCA Hospital. He was born July 25, 1921 in Jamestown the son of Leslie W. and Altana Bowen Davis. Leslie was a 1939 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving on a Hospital Ship in the South Pacific. Prior to retirement, he worked at Dahlstrom Mfg, and earlier at Kerr's Kandy Kitchen. He was President of the Jamestown Stamp Club, and enjoyed the antique business. Surviving are his wife, Mary Anne Reiber Davis whom he married August 31, 1981; a sister, Lucy Ann Emmons of CA; and two nieces, Pat (Rick) DelCalzo of Maple Springs; and Diane Sousa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Virginia Kerr Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday May 19, 2012 in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point. The Rev. Todd Remick, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery Hamburg, NY. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led by Rev. John L.
