Obituary of Eleanora R. Lund

Eleanora R. Lund, 92, of 165 Aldren Ave, formerly of 306 Towner Ave, died Friday May 25, 2012 in WCA Hospital. She was born October 27, 1919 in Jamestown the daughter of the late William and Frances Bush Ritzer. Eleanora was a 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School and a graduate of the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing. She had worked as an LPN for the former Jamestown General Hospital. She volunteered at the Chautauqua Area Council of Girl Scouts and worked on their professional staff for 16 years, retiring in 1980. Eleanora was a longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and volunteered at the Jamestown Audubon Society, St. Susan Soup Kitchen, Roger Tory Peterson Institute, and for over 20 years in the Thrift Store at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her son Jeffrey W. Lund and his wife Marti of Houston, TX; her granddaughter, Briana Thuijs and her husband Alexander, and great granddaughter, Fabienna Thuijs, of Sudbury, MA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Lund whom she married August 22, 1942 at Scott Air Force Base in St. Louis, MO and who died December 15, 1975. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Susan Anslow Williams, Associate Rector, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the undercroft of the church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 410 N.
