Obituary of Terry L. Studd
Terry L. Studd, 65, of 144 Clifton Ave. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 30, 2012) in his home.
A lifelong area resident he was born November 15, 1946 in Jamestown, NY a son of Warren E. Studd and the late Freda Barnes Studd.
He was a 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
Before his retirement he owned and operated Studd Refrigeration Company, a business that was started by his father and where Terry had worked for over 40 years.
As a proud veteran he was a member of the AMVETS, the Jamestown Vietnam Veterans Association and the Bemus Point Post # 557 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father who loved spending time at his camp and being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his father of Jamestown, his wife Lucy M. Tota Studd whom he married June 9, 1973, a son Andrew L. Studd of Jamestown, two sisters Doris Blashaw and Lynn McDonald both of Jamestown. He was also very close to his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, chaplain of Hospice Chautauqua County will officiate.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home
