Obituary of Donald L. Casselman
Donald L. Casselman, 81, of 219 Newland Avenue, died Friday June 1, 2012, in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born February 2, 1931, a son of the late Irwin Casselman and Dorothy Seaborn Casselman Andersen.
He was a Korean War veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1950-53.
He had been employed by Fancher Chair as a factory worker and earlier by Chase Interiors.
Surviving are three children Debra Ingham, Daphne (Steve Fairbanks) Cross and John Casselman; a step son Joel Mary Ann) Bishop; eight grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; a sister Miriam C. Price and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Evelyn Wentworth, August 18, 1989, a daughter Diana Casselman, a grandson, stepchildren Tom, Alton and Kay Bishop, two sisters Martha Goodrich and Carol Casselman; three brothers Vincent, Lawrence and Charles Lynn Casselman and his step father Niels Andersen.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Douglas Kibbe will officiate.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, Boys Town or a charity of choice.
