Obituary of Edward J. Hall

Edward J. Hall, 87, of 210 Woodcrest Ave., Lakewood, NY died Wednesday June 13, 2012 in his home. He was born September 22, 1924 in Bowman, GA the son of the late Lindsey and Cora Dickerson Hall. Edward was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving from 1944 to 1946, stationed in Japan. He worked at Marlin Rockwell Corp., SKF from 1950 until his retirement in 1987. From 1988 until 2008, he worked at Falconer Electronics. He attended Kiantone Congregational Church. A devoted husband and father, his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are his wife Corrine Harsen Hall whom he married March 21, 1948 in Elberton, GA; three daughters, Mildred Hall of Lakewood, NY; Shirley Hall of Kannapolis, NC; Linda Gordon (companion Tim McVaugh) of Cattaraugus, NY; a son Roger (Jeanie) Hall of Busti, NY; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Scott) Lynn, Adam (Amanda) Hall, Jamie Hall, Colleen Colburn (companion Lyle Anthony), Nicole Hall, Errik (Sarah) Gordon, Kierstyn Gordon; seven great grandchildren, Luke, Sawyer, and Cierra Lynn, Kain Colburn, Marlee Hall, Marshall Hall, and Kyran Gordon; a sister, Mary Waters, a brother, Eugene Hall, a sister in law, Shelby Jean Hall, and a brother in law Jennings Trull, all of Kannapolis, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Trull; a brother, James Hall; a sister in law, Janie Hall; and a brother in law, Roy Waters. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin R. McGinnis, and the Rev. Clair E. Cable, will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
