Obituary of John C. Possehl

John C. Possehl, 84, of 210 Buffalo Street, died Monday July 23, 2012, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A native of Buffalo, NY, he was born October 21, 1927, the son of Norman Possehl and Betty Clayton Possehl Putnam. He was a graduate of Hutch-Tech High School, Buffalo. His service in the military includes the US Army from 1946-47 and the US Air Force from 1950-51. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Buffalo General Hospital as a stationary engineer. He was a member of the American Legion and International Union of Operating Engineers. Surviving are his wife the former Marjorie Crespy, whom he married September 14, 1974; four children Elizabeth Purcell of Sacramento, CA, David Possehl and Diana Possehl, both of Fredonia and Susan Possehl of Newark, NY and his kitty Phantom. He was preceded in death by his parents. A brief memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate.
