Obituary of Thomas R. Gustafson

Thomas R. Gustafson, 67, of 3181 Burton Road, died Tuesday August 14, 2012, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. A native of Jamestown, he was born June 27, 1945, a son of the late Donald and Emma Peterson Gustafson. He was employed by Forrest Rowan as a truck driver. He loved his man cave, animals and especially Bluegrass music even playing in several area bands. Surviving are his wife Barbara Johnstone, whom he married June 27, 1976; a son Thomas R. (Cheryl) Gustafson, Jr. of Mayville; two step children Shelly Swan of Busti and Charles (Treva) VanGuilder of Jamestown; six grandchildren Trisha and Cody Gustafson, Travis and Tyler Scott and Andrew and Chad VanGuilder; four great grandchildren and a brother Otto "Bud" Gustafson of Florida. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Verna Olson and Dolly Girtson. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Lee O"Brien will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
