Obituary of Lois E. Davis

Lois E. Davis, 84, of 2608 Tompkins Road, died at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of Carl L. "Lewie" Davis, whom she married September 11, 1948 and who died April 18, 2001. Lois was born in Jamestown on July 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Ronald and Grace Simmons Williams, and graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1946. In earlier years, she had been employed by the Anderson-Winchester Agency and later retired from Vanstrom Construction where she worked in the office. Lois was a member of the Chautauqua County Fanciers and AARP. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Kenneth) Brentley of Jamestown; two sons, Tommy (Marjorie) Davis of Bemus Point and Mark (Vanessa) Davis of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) Brentley, Kevin Brentley, Darin Brentley and Matthew Davis, all of Jamestown, and Jeanie Davis of Bemus Point; and six great-grandchildren: Kayla and Emily Brentley, Caitlyn and Cara Orr, and Hannah and Connor Brentley. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Wayne Eppehimer will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lind's. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
