Obituary of Marie G. Fredrick

Marie G. Fredrick, 83, of 56 Collins Ave., died at 11:11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 in her home. She was the widow of Samuel J. Fredrick whom she married June 4, 1949 and who died August 19, 1997. Marie was born July 6, 1929 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth 'Lucy' Manuelle Schiavone, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948. A member of Ss Peter & Paul Church, she had been employed by Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing from 1984 to 1992. Marie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, talking with her friends on the telephone and loved playing the organ. Surviving are two sons, James L. Fredrick of Jamestown and Robert L. (Janet) Fredrick of Bemus Point; two grandsons, Jason R. (Edward) Fredrick and Matthew J. (Lindsey) Staples , both of Jamestown; a great-grandson, Andrew Staples of Jamestown; a sister, Patricia Ceresa of Erie, PA; several nieces and nephews; and her pet dog and constant companion, Gina. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Schiavone who died in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Marie's family is most thankful for the loving attention given by all the caregivers from Hospice, especially Patty Fuller. The family is also thankful for the services and care provided by Angel's In-Home Care and her staff: Angel Rodriguez, Carol Proestler, Vicky Haskell, Julia Haskell, Mary Jo Caldwell, and Lauri Caldwell.
