Obituary of Donald C. Cook
Donald C. "Cookie" Cook, 82, of 42 Brookside Estates, died Saturday September 22, 2012, in WCA Hospital.
A native of Kane, PA, he was born September 6, 1930, a son of the late Frederick and Mildred Olson Cook.
He was employed as a truck driver for Blodgett Trucking and earlier by Furniture Express. Following retirement he volunteered at Tanglewood Manor planning outings and picnics.
He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Evans Social Rollers for many years.
He was a kind, loving and tendered hearted man who always had time for his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A gifted musician he played the guitar and harmonica and also sang. He was an avid sports fan especially of the New York Yankees. He coached girls softball, boys baseball and flag football. He even played various sports throughout his life. In his spare time he enjoyed going to bingo. He will forever be treasured in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are two daughters Deborah (Tom Voty) Barlow of Jamestown, Lori (Robert) Muscarella of Jamestown; five grandchildren Jonathan Barlow, Katie Barlow, and Jason (Michelle) Muscarella all of Jamestown and Christopher (Randi) Muscarella and Brandon Muscarella, both of Port St. Lucie, FL; 10 great grandchildren Jonathan, Breanna, Kaylyn and Nicholas Barlow and Christopher Muscarella, Jr, J. Lucas, Jacob, Logan, Lilah and Emma Muscarella; a sister Joyce Brown of North Carolina and former wife and best friend Mary Ann.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Gloria Skinner and Betty Dietrick, twin sister Donna Bush and two brothers Gordon Cook and Frederick "Bud" Cook.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
