Obituary of David C. Allison

David C. Allison, 79, formerly of 116 Hazeltine Ave. and the former Manor Oak Skilled Nursing Facility, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident, he was born December 5, 1932 in Renova, Pa., a son of the late Merrill C. and Huldah Isaacson Allison. In his earlier years, Dave enjoyed riding his bicycle to band concerts and many baseball games. He attended Grace Chapel. Following the death of his father in 1967 and when his mother's care was no longer possible, he moved to Manor Oak where he was cared for for over 30 years. Dave moved to Heritage Village in 2004. He is survived by a brother-in-law, James Bottomley of Sodus, NY; six nieces and nephews: Mark Bottomley of Sodus, Debbie Brockman of Cincinnati, OH, Bruce Allison of Terre Haute, IN, Diane Allison-Church of Lakewood, NY, Stephen Wareham of Cannon Falls, MN and Mary Olson of Denver, CO; and an aunt, Ruth Ostrander of Panama, NY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrill A. and Donald C. Allison, and two sisters, Miriam Wareham and Helen Bottomley. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Wednesday.
