Obituary of Martha A. Parisi

Martha A. Parisi, 78, 1070 Wellman Road, Ashville, formerly of Kiantone, died Wednesday October 3, 2012, in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown native, she was born May 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Erling and Erna Glad Nederberg. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1952 and Jamestown School of Practical Nursing in 1953. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Resource Center as a licensed practical nurse and earlier had worked for the former Rowley Nursing Home, Dunkirk. She was a member of Kiantone Congregational Church, Blue Star Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary and the Masonic Lodge Auxiliary. While raising her children she was a Girl Scout leader. Surviving are three children Lori Ann Parisi Briggs of Ashville, Wendy Bret Parisi of Ashville and Todd William Parisi of Dove Creek, CO and five grandchildren Shannon Kimberly Forbes of Busti, Paul Ryan Briggs of Malone, NY, Damien Lee Parisi of Ashville, Sheila Marie Forbes of Busti and Gabrielle Ann Parisi of Dove Creek, CO. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William C. Parisi, whom she married January 25, 1958 and who died May 29, 2003 and a brother Roy Nederberg. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin R. McGinnis will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kiantone. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
