Obituary of Joseph Dynys, Jr.

Joseph Dynys, Jr., 90, of 75 Elam Ave. in Jamestown, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 in WCA Hospital. He was born February 17, 1922 in Jamestown, the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Solek Dynys, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1941. Joe was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army Air Corps, and a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion. He was also a life member of the Moose. A tool and die maker, Joe was employed for 33 years by GTE Sylvania in Warren, retiring in 1986. He loved gardening and enjoyed hunting with his beagles, as well as fishing. Joe was an avid Detroit sports fan. His greatest joy though was time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Bialy Dynys whom he married January 22, 1952; four sons: Edward Dynys of Jamestown, Joseph M. (Shelley) Dynys of Upper Burrell, PA, Frederick (Marilyn) Dynys of Chagrin Falls, OH, and Steven (Darlene) Dynys of Jamestown; ten grandchildren: Andrew (Heather) Dynys of Harrison City, PA, Stacey (Terry) Owens of Johnstown, PA, Benjamin (Jennifer) Dynys of Cole Camp, MO, Timothy (Suzanne) Dynys of Woodbridge, VA, Cpt. Daniel Dynys, US Marine Corps, stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA, Christopher, Anne and Kimberly Dynys, all of Chagrin Falls, Amber (Levi) Dynys of Jamestown and Tyler Dynys of Mooresville, NC; (14) great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Dynys of Jamestown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Dynys and a nephew, K. Theodore Dynys. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
