My thoughts and prayers to the family. Rev. Pettibon was my parents' minister in the years before they died, and he was so kind and caring when he worked with us for each of their funerals. He came right to the house as soon as we called and was there to help us. I know he wasn't feeling that well himself when my dad died, but he didn't hesitate to offer his assistance. He was a very kind and caring man.

I have such fond memories of Bill and his buddy, John Rough, another United Methodist pastor. They were so kind to me in my first years in the pastorate, full of wisdom and just the right amount of hilarity to chase away the grey clouds any day!
Bill was dependable, loving, and deeply committed to serving God's people. And when he was clowning around he was more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.

Dear Ruth and Family-
I was very sad to learn of Bill's death.
As I think you know, I became close to Bill through our many times together at Camps Farthest Out.
As you also may know, I affectionately called Bill "Great White Father".
I coined this nickname because Bill was a father figure to me, and in recognition of his Native American lineage that he was very proud of.
I hope you are comforted by the knowledge that Bill is at home with God.
I pray that Bill's soul is at peace, and that God will bless
you with many special memories of him and of your time together.
In deepest sympathy-
Jay Montalbano
