Obituary of Sebastian Triscari
Sebastian "Busty" Triscari, 91, formerly of 8 Shaw Ave. passed away at 11:05 a.m. Sunday (October 21, 2012) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident he was born August 16, 1921 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Rosario and Carmella Paterniti Triscari.
In 2002, he was granted his diploma from Jamestown High School which he earned before his enlistment in the U.S. Army.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II from October 31, 1942 to December 31, 1945 with the 861st Aviation Engineers. During his tour of duty he served in the European Theater of Operations in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Sharp Shooter Medal.
Before his retirement in 1984, he was employed by the Carborundum Company where he worked for 25 years. In earlier years he was the owner and operator of the former Cozy Cleaners on the corner of Willard and Barrows St. and also worked at the former National Worsted Mills for several years. He was very active with the labor management team and served as vice president of the union.
Busty was instrumental in the founding of the Resource Center where his late son Russell was one of the initial participants.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a life member of the John W. Tiffany Post 53 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Henry Mosher Post 638 American Legion, Falconer, NY. He was a member of the War Vets Recreation Club the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Short Snorters Club. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan and was a keen skeet shooter.
He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy and talked about them often. He was a very generous man and will also be remembered as playing "Santa Claus" for family gatherings and also at many nursing homes and for several organizations over the years.
Surviving are a daughter Christine (Robert) Storms of Jamestown, three grandchildren Brenda (John) Salemme, Robert (Kathy) Storms both of Jamestown, Lisa (Cecil) Miller of Falconer, five great grandchildren Carly Miller, Kyle Miller, Corine Salemme, Robert Storms, Christian Storms and by his brother Joseph Triscari of Falconer.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary Panzarella Triscari whom he married March 2, 1946 and who died January 22, 2004, a son Russell L. Triscari who died December 8, 2010 and two sisters Angeline Triscari who died in 1955 and Ann C. Cimo who died May 30, 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
